In her capacity as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Susan represented the interests of the Cook County Assessor, Cook County Board of Review and the Cook County Treasurer. Her six-year tenure at the State’s Attorney’s Office provided her with extensive insights into the processes and objectives of governmental agencies and the courts. These experiences have allowed her the benefit of providing our clients with a unique vantage point. Susan notes, “The camaraderie, coupled with the volume of cases managed at the State’s Attorney’s Office, not only provided unparalleled long-lasting relationships based in mutual respect, but also provided an invaluable perspective in analysis and procedure.”
Since joining Crane and Norcross in 1994, Susan continues to focus exclusively on real estate tax matters. She has expanded her extensive interaction with the governmental agencies and courts outside of Cook County to include numerous collar counties such as DuPage, Lake, McHenry, Will and Kane. She focuses primarily on valuation and exemption matters from their inception to final resolution, which includes the analysis of evidence, preparation of briefs and the presentation at oral hearings. Susan’s expertise is utilized in each level of the appeal process, including appeals to the Assessor, the Board of Review, the Circuit Court and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board.
